Social Selling at Sunrise with Brian Burns
Social Selling at Sunrise is a short and actionable blog series where we ask top sales leaders to share their expert response to this question:
What’s the most impactful social selling tactic that a modern sales professional can add to their morning routine?
This week we asked Brian Burns, host of the popular sales podcast, “The Brutal Truth About Sales & Selling.”
Here’s what he had to share:
I like to spend just a few minutes to review job changes, birthdays and Pulse posts on LinkedIn.
I find several opportunities to give social flattery by commenting, sharing and congratulating members of my eco-system.
These small deposits of goodwill payoff when I need a favor like an introduction or a question answered.
Listening for and engage with contextual cues such as job changes or recently published posts have become a common morning routine for top social selling experts.
If there’s one lesson you take away from this post, it’s that you should always give and provide value to your network before asking for anything in return. This is how you build trusted relationships that last.
